BLESSING FOR COUNTING THE OMER:

Baruch ata Adonai, ELOHEYNU melech ha-olam, asher kiddeshanu bidvarecha v’tzi-va-noo al sifeerat ha-omer.

Blessed are you, O Adonai our GOD, King of the universe Who has sanctified us by your Word and commanded us concerning the Counting of the Omer.

Today is forty-seven days, which is six weeks and five days of the Omer.

We are considering the connection between humility (hod) in nobility (malchut). Whatever measure of sovereignty and independence HaShem has gifted you during your life should be lived out in humility and gratitude. We need to embrace our gifting and use it to ‘gain souls’ for the Kingdom, as the time-glass for redemption is nearing empty. We need to believe with every fiber of our being that we are wanted and needed in this world by Our Creator. As the world crumbles in front of us, our spiritual connection with HaShem and Yeshua will be so strong that we will find ourselves in ‘a comfortable place’ where we will always be loved, where there is nothing to fear. We come to understand that we are royalty, sons and daughters of HaShem, which allows us to feel like royalty in our hearts.’

Let us consider that we are in that massive group of former slaves just a few weeks out from their miraculous exodus. Moses has informed them that they were to prepare themselves starting today by washing their clothing and withholding conjugal activities as they approach their destination. They needed to be ritually pure for what they were about to encounter! I am not convinced the children of Israel. knew where they were going and what was about to happen to them. No wonder they were terrified when HaShem showed up on Mt. Sinai in great smoke, fire, thunder, and a thick cloud engulfing the mountain. Moses had 120 days on Mt. Sinai with HaShem to ‘get acquainted,’ so this presentation didn’t phase Him, I suspect. But it must have terrified his fellow Israelites and the ‘erev rav’, the mixed multitude of gentiles, who left along with the children of Israel. None of them had experienced such a ‘close encounter’ with their Redeemer, with the exception of the night of their exodus, as they heard the wailing of those mourning the loss of their firstborn male.

In the near future, the remnant (elect) will have survived the horrors of the false prophet, the anti-Christ, and even the judgments of HaShem. I believe that this very remnant of believing Jews and Gentiles who are following the Torah are about to see this prophecy played out again. In Matthew 24:31 we are told that when Yeshua returns, He will be seen coming ‘on the clouds’ with ‘power and might’, sending His angels to ‘gather up His elect’ and give them a new address – Jerusalem, in the blink of an eye. Now if that doesn’t sound like a rapture, I don’t know what does! And He is taking us to Jerusalem supernaturally to rule and reign with Him in His Millennial Reign, whose location is often misunderstood despite the scriptures clearly describing a PHYSICAL reign for 1000 years on planet earth.

Consider this event a prophetic blueprint for the future. The Jewish and gentile remnant will experience the 2.0 version of this beautiful prophecy. I personally believe that ‘the elect’ are the lucky Jewish and Gentile believers who are alive at the time of Yeshua’s return. His angels will supernaturally translocate those of us who have survived ‘tribulation’. In the blink of an eye, we will find ourselves in Jerusalem with our Messiah. I think the believing Jewish remnant will be ‘gathered’ first, followed by the gentile remnant. The Jew first and then the gentile. This gentile (Sharon) is perfectly fine with this arrangement; I know that my faith in the finished work of Messiah Yeshua and a life of doing the mitzvot secures my place in His earthly Kingdom!

Will I go back to practicing medicine like old times? Or will as Messiah Yeshua slowly but thoroughly cleanses planet earth of the consequences of our selfish, sinful choices that have damaged every aspect of life amongst humans, animals, and all of nature make my skills unneeded? Or will HaShem blow my mind by replacing what I used to know with a far more superior. powerful and complete healing practices? Praying for and ‘stretching out my hands’ and touching the most critically ill persons who will be healed as I am empowered, just like Yeshua’s disciples were when He sent them out to bring back the scattered sheep of Israel, including to heal the sick. Praying scripture over patients (which by definition is truth) will result in a superior healing treatment than I ever had in my toolbox! I look forward to the time when humanity has no need for my prior skill set, where sickness will be a thing of the past. I trust Yeshua will find me and every displaced health care profession with the perfect chore to thoroughly join in ‘scrubbing the earth as clean as fallen snow.’

Avinu Malkeinu, My father and My King; thank you that I am one of Your elect. I look forward with peace of mind to that date when You will bring me to Your House of Prayer in Jerusalem, where I can learn Torah from You, Yeshua, my Redeemer. Thank you for allowing me the last 4 years of honing the skills of worshiping in a home fellowship, where I continue to perfect how I sanctify the 24 hours of Shabbat. She is a picture of returning to the garden, Your original plan. What a privilege for a sinner like me to practice walking with you in the cool of the afternoon in The Garden (Eden) every Shabbat! And to spend time learning from the resurrected Patriarchs and Matriarchs, the great sages, figures in history, and reuniting with my family and friends who either knew or longed for the Risen Jewish Messiah, Yeshua of Nazareth. I thank You that You continue to open up new and exciting venues of ‘avodah’ – ‘service’ that will allow me to ‘make souls’ for Your coming Kingdom. May we all experience an infusion of more wisdom and knowledge from Your Torah this Sh’vuot. Bo, Yeshua, Bo!
