Day 2: He wants a Loving Relationship with you!

Updated: 1 day ago

BLESSING FOR COUNTING THE OMER:

Baruch ata Adonai, ELOHEYNU melech ha-olam, asher kiddeshanu bidvarecha

v’tzi-va-noo al sifeerat ha-omer.

Blessed are you, O Adonai our GOD, King of the universe Who has sanctified us by your Word and commanded us concerning the Counting of the Omer.

Today is two days of the Omer.

He wants a Loving Relationship with you!

"My beloved is like a gazelle or a young stag. Behold, he stands behind our wall; He is looking through the windows, gazing through the lattice. My beloved spoke, and said to me: "Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away." (Song of Solomon 2:9-10 NKJV)

The Song of Songs or the Song of Solomon, since the Middle Ages, has been recited on the Festival of Passover, which always occurs in the spring. It is a timeless recounting of the love between the nation of Israel and God. This book represents the springtime of Israel, who, after the Exodus, will be blossoming into God’s nation of chosen people after the hard, cold winter of enslavement by Egypt.

These verses are also for us as we walk through this Passover season. Our enslavement to this world can be overwhelming. We are constantly bombarded by the world and its troubles, as well as possibly family troubles. The internet, TV, and electronic stimulation are overwhelming at times.  The LORD is stretching out his hand to us to come out of the winter season of troubles, doubt, and pain. He is asking us to “come away” with Him, where there is love, peace, and holiness. Where we can rest in His arms, away from our troubles and get reset.

"For lo, the winter is past, The rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth; the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree puts forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grapes give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away!" (Song of Solomon 2:11-13 NKJV)

The LORD wants that intimate relationship with us. We must reach out and take His hand and walk with Him. We ask how do we do this? One small step at a time. Make a commitment right now. Write it down on a calendar or write it on a Post-it note on your bathroom mirror. Today, I will spend 5 minutes in His Word, 5 minutes in prayer and/or spend 5 minutes singing to Him a praise song!  You will be amazed at how this can change your attitude, your mind, and the outlook of your day. In a very short time, you will find yourself spending even more time with Him, and He will reveal even more of Himself to you… more than you could have even imagined! Soon enough, we may discover

that we are also encouraging others to walk more closely with Him to experience the springtime season of renewal.
