BLESSING FOR COUNTING THE OMER:
Baruch ata Adonai, ELOHEYNU melech ha-olam, asher kiddeshanu bidvarecha v’tzi-va-noo al sifeerat ha-omer.
Blessed are you, O Adonai our GOD, King of the universe Who has sanctified us by your Word and commanded us concerning the Counting of the Omer.
Today is five days of the Omer.
Now there were certain men who were defiled by a human corpse, so that they could not keep the Passover on that day; and they came before Moses and Aaron that day. And those men said to him, "We became defiled by a human corpse. Why are we kept from presenting the offering of the LORD at its appointed time among the children of Israel?" Numbers 9:6-7 NKJV
Moses consulted with the LORD about this problem. These men were doing the greatest mitzvot (good deed) there is. They were either carrying the bones of Joseph, as some commentators state, or had been in contact with a deceased person. Why did I state this is the greatest mitzvot? The deceased person has no way of paying one back for the care that is done for them!
Gods reply to Moses:
"Speak to the children of Israel, saying: 'If anyone of you or your posterity is unclean because of a corpse, or is far away on a journey, he may still keep the LORD'S Passover. Numbers 9:10 NKJV
Did you know that the Feast of Passover is the only time that God gives a second chance to one who missed an appointed time? Passover is the only feast that everyone eats from the sacrifice of the lamb, and you can’t participate if you are ritually unclean.
Passover symbolizes the sacrificial death of Yeshua. Every person is required to partake of the sacrifice of Yeshua by believing in Him, in His death and resurrection, repenting from our sins and trusting in Him for His forgiveness. Some are unbelieving (unclean). God gives us and everyone a second chance for this sacrifice! How? When you tell another about Yeshua, but, unfortunately, if this person rejects Him at this time, God will allow a second chance! As long as this person lives and breathes, God is willing to accept this person’s change of heart (a second chance), and this person comes to Him in repentance and acceptance. That is how much God loves us and wants us to be with Him!
"Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.”Revelation 3:20 NKJV
My Father, My King, I pray that today you put someone in my life who needs a second chance in knowing you! May he hear your voice in the words you give me to speak and may his/her life be changed forever!
